This Bible is exactly what I hoped for after having seeing an old 1611 in a museum not long ago. I was so happy to find something familiar to that museum experience. The wood carving- The original has been digitally re-mastered keeping the typesetting and margin notes.The cover is hardcover, but has a good feel to it. The look of the cover is authentic too. It was just what I wanted
I have to qualify, of course, that this is a discount version, a less expensive replica. The paper is thick, adding thickness to the Bible.To have a commemorative version I am not afraid to carry around and read, I am happy to have one that will stay together without requiring a whole lot of extra protection or worry that I will somehow damage a more expensive issue. I will be showing it to people and am happy to have them flip through it. I plan to buy more for gifts. I'm sure some of the people I give it too will not be willing to read the old English and transfer mentally all of the changed letters. Even those people, I know will like looking at, and comparing it, as well as enjoying it's unique characteristics.

Nice binding, difficult to see the print, paper quality could be better.
Be aware the text is so small its barely legible. Is neat to have a facsimile edition of the 1611 King James, but this one is entirely too small. I guess if you have really sharp eyes and a magnifying glass you could actually read it.
No complaints here. Item description was accurate. Something that even approximates the early printings of the 1611 KJV is a blast for students of sacred scripture or history buffs in general. It's nice looking and reading it is a blast. The original translators' lengthy message to readers is worth the price of admission.
As others have suggested, there are far nicer 1611 commemorative versions out there (like the Thomas Nelson product). However, they cost two to three times the very low price of this item.

Awesome quality, clean printing. It's surprisingly easy to get the hang of the old orthography, once you read a chapter or two. It contains some additional stuff, like Biblical genealogies, a reading plan, and a means of finding when the sun rises and sets (in seventeenth-century Britain). Cool stuff, and awesome if you like Church history.
It is hard to believe the price of this KJV 1611 Bible facsimile. A bigger model goes for about $179. And the full size can cost close to a grand. The pages are scans of the actual pages from an original first edition 1611 Bible. I was a little skeptical at first that it would not be readable due to its reduced page size. But that was not the case. Now if I took my bi-focals off, it's another story. It is like viewing a piece of history as I read the Bible pages as they looked to our forefathers (minus the apocryphal books, of course). The old English spellings takes a little getting used to, but the message of salvation in Jesus Christ is the same, no matter how you spell it. Give it a shot. It's only a few bucks. And you might just get saved in the process.
I chose 4 stars as opposed to 5 because, while it's interesting to see the differences between the more modern King James versions and the original printing, the Apocrypha is excluded from this edition, and it's also difficult to read because of the typesetting and certain letters being harder to discern; overall, it's a good though not full-blown great reproduction, and I think it could've benefitted from correction of the errors in spelling, so we could know the actual changes in spelling over time. I like the blackletter type, but at times it's hard to discern letters and the smaller print (in the notes on the side) should've been magnified. What's great is the extra stuff that more modern versions lack, such as the artistically rendered genealogies, calendars, etc.
This Bible version has way more in it that I had anticipated! Granted the text is small and one needs a Fresnel or other magnifier, but the content is nothing less than AMAZING!! The family trees, and other items in there, definitely a keeper.
Wished there was a version of this exact type, with the ability to change font size, and magnify if needed.
